Today we announced we’re officially plugging our Yield Layer into one of the largest crypto blockchain ecosystems — Sui Network!
This integration will be rolled out across four phases, eventually allowing native Sui Network users to access yields from Ethereum-based platforms on Sui, without needing to bridge or ever leave the network.
In addition to unlocking billions of dollars in Ethereum-based liquidity, our Sui Network integration will provide access to yields from our blue-chip DeFi partners, like AAVE, Curve, Morpho, Gearbox, and Lido Finance — all part of our effort to bring Ethereum yield to Sui.
What’s more, the $YLAY token — which powers The Yield Layer and allows holders the ability to access multiple reward streams — is now tradable on Sui, making it easier than ever to enter the Yelay ecosystem.
Four Suiiiiieeet Phases
We’ll be rolling out the four Sui integration phases over the course of 2025, giving users plenty of opportunity to familiarise themselves with the Yield Layer on Sui and helping Ethereum ecosystem participants gain exposure to other chains safely and securely.
Phase 1: $YLAY/$SUI Trading Pair
For our first phase, we’re creating a trading pair of $YLAY and $SUI, which give users the ability to purchase the $YLAY token on the Sui blockchain in exchange for $SUI.
Check our community channels for further announcements.
Phase 2: Sui Pod on PERQ
For our second phase, our tech will be utilised by ecosystem partner PERQ to release a Sui Pod, which allows users to stake Ethereum-based assets that accrue rewards from multiple projects simultaneously.
Users deposit USDC on Sui to generate yield on Ethereum, which they can then withdraw on Sui without ever having to bridge or leave the Sui Network. The entire bridging process is abstracted, providing users with a seamless experience and better yield than what’s available from the native Sui pieces.
Phase 3: Live Ethereum Yields on Sui
For our fourth phase, we’ll be going live with Ethereum yields on the Sui Network. This means for users holding assets on the Sui Network, they’ll be able to stake those yields through Yelay to generate attractive yields that beat what’s currently available on Sui today.
This is the reverse of our Phase 2, where users are able to not only withdraw their yields on Sui, but can also deposit and stake for Ethereum yields on Sui as well.
Phase 4: Launch of Cross-Chain Liquidity
Our fourth phase will see us implement full cross-chain liquidity with Circle’s Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol (CCTP) and Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP).
Utilising Yelay Lite’s tech stack, users will experience a low cost going from chain A to B.
For example, users could stake $USDC on Sui but might only receive 10% yield. Whereas, if they were to stake that same $USDC on Ethereum, they might receive 20% yield. By using CCTP to bridge, the $USDC stake on Sui could go cross-chain into Ethereum where ETH yield is generated, and then goes back to Sui where it can be withdrawn.
While this is the last phase of our Suiiieet four phase rollout, it’s just the beginning of our efforts to bring Ethereum yield to Sui and to the greater Layer 1 blockchains.
Bringing Ethereum Yield to Sui
By bringing Ethereum yield to Sui, we’re helping deliver access to the best yields in DeFi — yields that typically cost hundreds of dollars in gas fees. But with our Sui Network integration, these same gas fees will soon be available for pennies on the dollar.
While traditional methods of bootstrapping liquidity cross-chain often relies heavily on bridged assets, Yelay abstracts away all of that complexity, which reduces risk for both users and the protocols themselves.
It’s a pretty “Suiweet” deal, if we do say so ourselves!
