We recently announced we’re bringing $YLAY to the Sui Network, and with $YLAY officially live on Sui, we wanted to show you how to bridge your $YLAY from Ethereum to Sui successfully.

The process through Wormhole is relatively easy and should take no more than a few minutes.

Here’s what you’ll need to get started:

  1. A Sui wallet.
  2. $YLAY and $ETH to pay for gas on the Ethereum Network (source chain).
  3. $SUI to pay for gas on the Sui Network (destination chain).

Installing Sui Wallet on Browsers

Before starting the bridging, you must install a Sui Wallet on your browser to act as the destination wallet. If you already have a Sui Wallet installed, skip this step and head to the next section.

  1. Head over to the Google Chrome Web Store and search for Sui Wallet.
  2. Click ‘Add to Chrome’.
  3. Click ‘Add Extension’.
  4. Follow the onboarding process to set up your Sui Wallet.

Fantastic! You have successfully set up a Sui Wallet and are ready to start the bridging process.

How to Bridge $YLAY to Sui Using Wormhole

Now that you have your Sui Wallet set up, you can navigate to the Portal Token Bridge and begin the bridging process.

Step 1: Navigate to Portal Token Bridge and Select YLAY on Ethereum and Sui

First, head to www.portalbridge.com. This interface allows users to easily bridge tokens from one network to another. For this tutorial, we will bridge $YLAY from the Ethereum Network to the Sui Network.

  1. Click ‘Select chain and token’ in the ‘From’ section.
  2. Ensure the Ethereum Network is selected and enter ‘YLAY’ into the search bar. You can then click ‘YLAY’.
  3. Next, you’ll need to enter ‘YLAY’ on the Sui Network in the destination chain. Click ‘Select chain and token’ in the ‘To’ section.
  4. Make sure the ‘Sui Network’ is selected and search again for ‘YLAY’ and click ‘YLAY’.

Step 2: Connect both source and destination wallets

Now that $YLAY has been selected on the Ethereum and Sui networks, you can now connect your wallet.

For this step, you will need to connect two separate wallets: one on Ethereum (e.g., MetaMask) and another on Sui (Sui Wallet).

Connecting your Ethereum Wallet (e.g., MetaMask)

  1. Click ‘Connect source wallet’.
  2. Select ‘MetaMask’ from the drop-down list.
  3. A MetaMask notification will appear, asking you to connect your wallet. Select the wallet you want to connect and click ‘Next’.
  4. Another MetaMask notification will appear, asking to confirm the connection to Portal Bridge. Click ‘Confirm’.
  5. You will know your Ethereum Wallet is connected if you see your wallet address above the ‘From’ section.

The next step is to connect the destination wallet, which will be the Sui Wallet.

Connecting your Sui Wallet

  1. Click ‘Connect destination wallet’.
  2. A range of options will appear to connect the destination wallet. Select ‘Sui’.
  3. A Sui Wallet notification will appear, asking you to connect your wallet to Portal Bridge. Click ‘Confirm’.
  4. You will know your wallet is connected if you see your wallet address in the ‘To’ section.

You are now ready to input the amount of $YLAY you want to bridge to Sui.

Step 3: Enter the desired amount and execute the transaction

The final step involves entering the desired amount of $YLAY to bridge to Sui and executing the transaction.

NOTE: You will need $SUI tokens to pay gas on the Sui Network for this transaction.

  1. Enter the amount of $YLAY to bridge to the Sui Network in the ‘Amount’ field.
  2. The UI will calculate the route and explain that you must make two transactions and have $SUI ready to pay for gas. It will also tell you the estimated time it will take for the transaction to process.
  3. Once you are ready to bridge $YLAY from the Ethereum Network to the Sui Network, click ‘Review transaction’.
  4. A confirmation screen will appear, asking you to confirm the bridging process. If you are ready to continue, click ‘Confirm transaction’.
  5. A series of MetMask notifications will appear. The first will ask you to provide permission for the spending cap for Portal Bridge. Click ‘Next’.
  6. On the following screen, click ‘Confirm’.
  7. Another MetaMask notification will appear, asking you to confirm the transaction. Note the estimated gas fee and click ‘Confirm’.
  8. A MetaMask notification will appear stating that your transaction is being submitted.
  9. Now, you must wait approximately 25 minutes for processing.
  10. Once the transaction has been submitted successfully, the button will change. Click ‘Claim tokens to complete transfer’.
  11. A Sui Wallet notification will appear. Click ‘Approve’.

And that’s all there is to it!

You have successfully bridged $YLAY from the Ethereum Network to the Sui Network and can now view your $YLAY in the Sui Wallet.
